My home.

My home.

I had such a busy weekend I forgot to mention that I met with my oncologist on Friday. I had lab work and a chest xray done. Everything is still clear. I wasn’t expecting anything since I’ve been feeling so good, but it’s nice to have the confirmation. My labs looked good too. My white blood cell count was a little low but it’s been going up and down since treatment. She said that was fine and just from the chemo. My Albumin was a little low too, so I need to work on increasing my protein. It was fine 6 months ago so I think it must just be that I wasn’t keeping up with my triathlon and cycling training needs.

Sometimes nursing can be a very cutthroat, catty, you’re on your own, take your assignment as is, don’t complain, don’t ask for help, be a martyr, and don’t forget to smile, profession.

It’s nights like this that will make you question why you even got into this profession in the first place.

I’m so happy I have my heart rate monitor back! Polar had to send me a new one because mine was going through batteries like crazy! Long story short, the V800 is not accurate at all on recovery times without it! Anyways, did a 35 mile ride today and stopped for this festive treat from @violetsweetshoppe!

I’m speaking on a panel as a cancer survivor, at a seminar to educate healthcare professionals about cancer care on Saturday! I’m super excited to have been chosen for this by the SCCA  I love doing stuff like this.
